Prepare a Windows or Mac host and follow real app screens for connecting, settings and sharing.
01
Prepare the host and connecting device
Install the app on the Windows or Apple Silicon Mac computer you want to use remotely, and on the computer you connect from. Check the download page for supported installers. On a Mac, drag the app from the DMG into Applications. Android, iPhone and iPad apps and Intel Mac support are being prepared for public release; preview their actual app screens below.
02
Sign in and start hosting
Create an account on the website and sign in with the same account on the host and connecting device. Turn sharing on in My PC Sharing on the remote computer, and check its status and sleep settings. On a Mac, allow Screen Recording and Accessibility, then return to the app and refresh its status. Phones and tablets connect to this host.
03
Connect to an online PC
Choose an online computer you own or that has been shared with you in the connecting device's app. Remote sessions open in the app; use the website to manage computers and access. If the app has a number connection screen, enter the host's computer number. Access permission is still required.
04
Troubleshoot connectivity
Check that both devices are online and the host is running. Update the apps and check that the firewall allows their traffic. Ask your network administrator for help if company policies or double NAT restrict direct connections.
Rendered examples of the current airdesk UI accompany the instructions. Select an image to enlarge it. Some labels and options may vary on physical devices, operating systems and app versions.
Windows
Windows and Mac can be the remote host or the device you connect from. Prepare the host, then connect from another computer, phone or tablet.
Sign in to the app
Sign in with the email account you use on the website. Enter your authentication code if two-factor authentication is enabled. Enable or disable two-factor authentication in your account settings on the website.

Adjust streaming quality
Change resolution, frame rate and bitrate in streaming settings, then save. Saved video preferences apply to the next connection. Use the remote-screen toolbar to adjust an active stream. If the picture stutters, try a lower resolution or bitrate. Codecs and some options depend on support from the device and host.

Check permissions and plans
The owner sets input, audio and clipboard permissions for shared computers. Remote terminal is available on all plans when supported and permitted by the host. Remote printer requires Pro or above and host support.
Use the Friends page to add a friend, then share a computer you own after they accept. Accepting a friend and sharing a computer are separate steps.
On the Computers page, check that the PC is listed as one you own.
Enter your friend's airdesk account email on the Friends page. They can accept on their own Friends page. Refresh your list to check whether they have accepted.
Select the friend and computer, review input, audio and clipboard permissions, then share.
